Colon cancer screening

Regular colon cancer screening is the key to preventing colorectal cancer.  Screening for colorectal cancer is recommended for patients starting at 50 years of age, and 45 years of age for African Americans.  This can be done through annual fecal occult blood tests, sigmoidoscopy, or colonoscopy, and should continue until the age of 75 years.
